The service connects Italy to Jugoslavia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Greece
and Turkey, from any area in Italy through the Cervignano, Sofia,
Thessaloniki and Istanbul inland terminals. The connections
take place several times a week, with the possibility of planning
daily journeys too.
This product guarantees greater security for rail freight, constant
monitoring of goods throughout the journey, and prompt notification
about the arrival of the cargo at its destination.
The service is provided in collaboration
with our partners, Proodos and Schenker, for freight transport
between Italy and Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey.
The excellent performance of the border-to-border route
allows to reforward trains to the major Balkan locations
for transport to CSI countries.
Thanks to an agreement with the railways
participating to the service, transport can be arranged
for import business as well, to enable the re-use of the
Italian wagons on their return journey.
This means optimisation of the train used and therefore
significant savings in transport costs, all to the benefit
of the customer.
Upon the customer's request, it is also possible to
arrange door-to-door delivery services, the transfer
of freight from the rail to the road mode, and warehouse
facilities in Thessaloniki, Athens, Istanbul-Halkay
and Sofia.
